The Blue Bulls Company (BBCo) is happy to welcome onboard Isuzu, Puma, SSG, PVM and Intercape as new sponsors for the first (ever) professional women’s rugby team in South Africa, the Bulls Daisies.

BBCo. Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Rathbone says the professionalisation of the Bulls Daisies will help strengthen South Africa’s performance on the international front.

“This type of development will be instrumental in helping power up South African rugby at the world stage and as a franchise, we are happy to be contributing towards this growth alongside our partners. We are confident that our Bok women will benefit from this,”

“The future of women’s rugby is beyond promising, with a great opportunity for South African teams to participate in inter-continental competitions in the near future. It should no longer be viewed as a risky space to invest in but the next great opportunity to be a part of and so we hope to see more of corporate South Africa coming on board.”

BBCo. Chief Commercial Officer, Stefan van der Merwe lauded the new Bulls Daisies’ partners as pioneers in the drive to develop professional rugby for women in South Africa.

“We have had great partners as a company over the years but whenever you venture into new spaces that require boldness, you are not guaranteed to have people who will back your vision as you do. However, we have found this great confidence in these five incredible organisations who are committed to elevating women’s rugby as we envision it,”

“We are grateful to our partners and look forward to welcoming more as the season goes”

Isuzu and SSG have signed on as associated sponsors whilst Puma is the team’s technical apparel sponsor. Both PVM and Intercape have come onboard official suppliers of the team.
