The Bulls Daisies have made minor adjustments to their matchday 23 that will do duty against the Cell C Sharks, in round 4 of the 2023 SA Rugby Women’s Premier Division competition, to be played at the Hollywoodbets Kingspark Stadium.
Hayden Groepes – still without the services of 14 of his chargers, currently on national duty – has given Patience Gontse Mokone a chance to start (at right wing) with Maria Tshiremba moving to the impact squad. Elsewhere,
Ralebona Lebogang misses out due to HIA protocol after her untimely bump in Gqeberha a week ago. In her spot, Groepes has called up Faith Tsauke, who will get to run off the bench. Anele Magwazela also features as the only other change to the impact squad, coming in for Chantel Dikgale (24) who moves to the matchday extra role alongside Thulisile Bukula (25).
Speaking with the media during the week, assistant coach, Mandisa Williams said the ladies are always keen and ready to do more, constantly working on bettering their skillset at each training session.
“Game-wise we are still building ourselves as the Bulls Daisies but things have been going well to date and we continue to work hard,”
“Going to eThekwini we want to lift the tempo of the game, taking the game to them knowing that they are also without their Boks. So, going into this second half of the season, we want to make sure that we score points because points matter at the end of the day,”
“We have been playing with the ball in hand and scoring tries on the edges but we also are working on our defence to be able to hold out in the dying moments of the game,”
“The momentum we built against Border and EP Queens; we want to continue seeing that in Durban as well.”
The North-South battle is scheduled to take place on Saturday 27 May 2023, with kick-off set for 13h00pm in the afternoon.
