The Vodacom Bulls wish to thank South African sporting loving fans and families for helping sell out the round 11 fixture between the Tshwane outfit against Cape side, the DHL Stormer in the 2023/24 Vodacom United Rugby Championship.

The two sides will now play their decisive SA VURC Shield encounter in front of 51 700 supporter on Saturday afternoon.

This is the first time in 12 years that a provincial match featuring the Vodacom Bulls – at Loftus – will be sold out, a tournament record for a fixture held in Mzansi during the regular season. It will also be the second highest crowd (ever) for a single VURC game.

Edgar Rathbone, Chief Executive of the BBCo. applauded rugby fans for helping make this a historic fixture in the tournament’s calendar.

“This is a special feat that rugby fans in the province have helped us achieve, a wonderful step for the competition and another milestone for South African rugby,”

“On behalf of the entire Vodacom Bulls family, I wish to thank each every one of the 51700 fans who have purchased a ticket. You have made the right decision for an unrivalled Sportainment experience, I know that the events team cannot wait to welcome you all to our stadium for a fun time for the whole family,”

“We have now set the bar and I am counting on them to do the same in future fixtures, starting with the Champions Cup round of 16 clash where it will be South Africa against France when we welcome Lyon to our fortress,” says Rathbone.

Martin Anayi, Vodacom United Rugby Championship CEO, said: “There is no bigger rugby game taking place on the planet this weekend and a sell-out crowd is befitting for a clash of these giant clubs. Huge credit goes to the Vodacom Bulls, the DHL Stormers, Vodacom, SuperSport and all the other stakeholders who collaborated to promote this game. It takes the title as the second-highest ever attendance for a single game in the league’s history. It should be one hell of a spectacle.”
