The Blue Bulls Women gave a good account of themselves on Saturday afternoon when they defeated the Cell C Sharks Women 21-13 in a thrilling SA Rugby Women’s Premier Division at Loftus Versfeld.

The victory for the Tshwane-based side placed them in a good position on the log, catapulting them to the top of the table and remaining unbeaten after three matches.

Following a tight first half which saw the two teams going into the break with the score tied at 10-10 with the home side scoring one converted try and a penalty to the visitors’ two unconverted five-pointers.

There was all to play for in the second half and the Blue Bulls Women upped the ante, adding another try and two penalties, while the Cell C Sharks Women only managed to add a single penalty.

The Blue Bulls Women will next week travel to Paarl where they will face the Boland Dames on Saturday.
