The Blue Bulls Women’s team will take on reigning champions, Border Women, in the season-opening match of the SA Rugby Women’s Premier Division championship at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
Not only will this be the first match of the 2022 season, but the encounter will also act as a curtain-raiser for the Vodacom United Rugby Championship match between the Vodacom Bulls and Italian side, Benetton Rugby.
The last time the two sides met in the 2021 edition of the championship, it was the visitors from the Eastern Cape who emerged with their tails up following a 10-32 victory in Pretoria.
The Blue Bulls Women have selected a strong side to face their coastal rivals, and will be out to start of their season campaign on a high note, but are wary of the capabilities of a strong Border Women’s side.
The match will kick-off at 11h40 on Saturday.
The Blue Bulls Women’s team is:
STARTERS (15-1): Nontuthuko Shongwe, Lynn Subke, Kirsten Eastes, Daphne Scheepers, Chantel Dikgale, Elizabetha Janse van Rensburg, Rumandi Potgieter; Vuyolwethu Vazi, Lerato Makua, Kyla De Vries, Anathi Qolo, Sophy Mashapa, Dineo Mokoena, Thantaswa Macingwane, Tyler-Jane Coleman.
