The Springboks’ thrilling victory against England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup would have been more than enough reward but the honours continued to flow at the World Rugby Awards in Tokyo on Sunday, 3 November.

Pieter-Steph du Toit, Rassie Erasmus and the South African national rugby team were the big winners at the glittering awards ceremony as they walked away with Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Team of the Year to cap off a very successful season.

The Springboks climbed to number one on the World Rugby rankings after winning 10 out of 12 Tests while drawing against New Zealand in the Rugby Championship. The last time South Africa were ranked first was in 2009.

They made history by becoming the first team to lift the William Webb Ellis trophy after losing a Rugby World Cup pool match while they became the first SANZAAR team to win the Rugby Championship and Rugby World Cup in the same season.

The #BullsFamily would like to congratulate the three award winners and the entire Springbok team on their incredible achievements this past weekend.
