The Vodacom Bulls Under-20 side bounced back to winning ways in spectacular form on Saturday, placing themselves in a good position to bag an SA Rugby Under-20 Championship playoff spot.
Loftus B-field was abuzz with exhilarating rugby action as the Vodacom Bulls U20’s secured a 39-17 win over a spirited Leopards U20 team.
The home side took the upper hand early in the game as they headed to the half-time break 20-10 ahead. This was despite playing for 10 minutes with 14 men as winger, Tharquin Manuel, received a yellow card for a dangerous tackle.
The Rynard Mouton-led side produced an impressive attack and defensive performance in the final 40 minutes which saw the Vodacom Bulls U20’s adding 19 points while only conceding seven points.
The Vodacom Bulls U20’s finished the match having scored a total of six tries, with three of them converted, and a penalty to secure a spot at the top of the log table. The Leopards U20’s responded with two converted tries and a penalty goal.
The Tshwane-based side will next face Eastern Province U20 in Nelson Mandela Bay on Thursday.
